Aluminium profile surface treatment methods

Aluminium profiles are widely used in various industries due to their lightweight, durable and corrosion-resistant properties. In order to further enhance the functionality and aesthetics of aluminium profiles, GKBM will now use methods such as powder spraying, fluorocarbon powdering coating and wooden transfer to treat the surface of aluminium profiles. These methods not only improve the appearance of aluminium profiles, but also provide additional protection and functionality. Three methods of surface treatment for aluminium profiles are described below.

Powder spraying is one of the most common surface treatment methods for aluminium profiles on the market today, with a coating thickness of 30 microns or more, it has good performance in terms of impact resistance, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance and weathering resistance, etc., and the coating is inexpensive. However, the biggest weakness of powder coating is that it is afraid of the sun's ultraviolet radiation, and long-term ultraviolet irradiation will cause the surface of aluminium profiles to naturally recede. This will also cause the sunny side of the door and window profiles and the non-sunny side of the colour difference is obvious after a few years.

Fluorocarbon powdering has corrosion resistance, anti-colour fading and anti-ultraviolet performance, compared with powder spraying is more wear-resistant. Aluminium profiles for outdoor use are recommended to use fluorocarbon powdering treatment, otherwise it is prone to fading and surface cracks and so on. Fluorocarbon coatings are extremely durable and retain their colour and finish over time, making them ideal for outdoor applications that require exposure to harsh environmental conditions.

Wooden transfer refers to the rapid transfer and penetration of wood grain pattern on transfer paper or transfer film to the already sprayed or electrophoresed profiles on the basis of powder coating or electrophoresis coating, according to the principle of high-temperature sublimation heat penetration, by heating and pressure. This method not only improves the aesthetics of aluminium profiles, but also has the advantages of durability and low maintenance of aluminium. However, wooden transfer is less weather resistant and is usually used on the indoor side.

In conclusion, the three aluminium profile surface treatment methods of powder spraying, fluorocarbon powdering coating and wooden transfer offer innovative solutions to improve the appearance and performance of aluminium profiles. With versatility, durability and customisation options, these methods are great tools for achieving the desired aesthetics and functionality in a variety of applications. As technology continues to advance, the possibilities for aluminium profile surface treatments will only continue to expand, providing more opportunities for creativity and innovation in design and manufacturing.
